The course

the first run – two laps of 5k each
start 08:00

This is a 2 lap course incorporating Deek’s cross country running track as well as exploring the
single track available on the Eastern and
Southern side of the Mt Stromlo complex.
A mixture of groomed trail running, single track, three (dry) creek crossings, and open firetrail.

At the end of the first lap, the runners will be
directed through a timing chute – where you
will tag the next team member; or head out for
a second time.

Water available at the 3.5k mark.

the bike leg – two laps of 20k each
start 09:30

Begins with a le Mans start of 200m - because
you haven’t had enough running yet - riders
will loop the remaining part of the criterium track
and exit at the southern gate before beginning a marked 20km loop incorporating the Mt Stromlo trunk trail.

This is the ‘green dot’ course set for the novice/intermediate MTBer, so experienced riders should do a very fast time, and it is achievable for first timers.  It will incorporate the BMX track at
the end – just to make it all worthwhile ;->

On your return from the southern end of the criterium course, you will be directed through the timing chute – for teams, tag the next rider, for soloists, take a deep breath, crack an energy gel,
and push on for your second and final lap.

Tired yet ?

Water available only at transition (zero and
20k mark)

the final run – two laps of 5k each
start 12:30

The final 2 lap run will suit the speedsters,
and it won’t be the same as the first event.

That’s all I want to say at the moment …. All will
be revealed at the race briefing

Water will be available
