FAQs

Is there a limit on the number of team members?

You can have 2, 3, 4 or 6 team members.

Can I enter solo?

Of course – but this will be a tough gig, even with
the breaks between disciplines.  For a solo athlete
the distances will be 10k off-road run/ 40k off-road bike/10k off-road run.

That’s a half marathon and a 40k off road ride - if
you are looking for good hit out - this is it.

Why are there 3 separate starts?

I figure that this will add to the fun – knowing
your times and placing from the previous legs
will spice up the competition.  It’s also more fun
for the spectators and your support people, they
get to see their heroes during the day!

What do we do if we still have a
runner out on the course when the
bike leg starts (or vice versa) ?

Doesn’t matter – you just have to make sure
you have a competitor ready to go when the
next leg starts.

Anyone still out on the track will finish in their
good time and still get a valid finishing time
which is added to the overall team time.
For solo entrants, the same principle applies,
finish that leg and then start the next leg.

I’ve never understood why some events will set
cut-off times and give you a DNF.  As far as I’m concerned you’ve paid your money – you should
be allowed to finish your race !

Why the le Mans start for the
bike leg?

It spreads out the field at the start of
the bike leg so we don’t get everyone jamming onto the course at the same time, creating a giant bottleneck with
all the associated frustrations.

If I enter solo, do I need a
support crew?

Not compulsory to have a support crew, but highly recommended.

I am a runner but need a rider to make up a team ! (or vice versa)

Send me your email details via teambuilder@helterskelter.com.au and
I’ll try and put you in touch with others
so you can form a team.
